gears gears gears
ok so i want to put some 4.56's out back and i dont use 4x4 so i am not 100% concerned about doing the front diff in a ford racing gear, but ford sells the gear for our trucks rear end...but not the front....where to get the front end, what are you guys running for front gears....and i guess as long as i dont engage 4x4 id be fine but if a kid or a buddy hit it i wouldnt want to risk damage...

I don't notice any whine at all with them. I went with the 4.56's because of my lift and bigger tires so that I could regain the power I lost. It's not really needed unless you're adding 35's or bigger, heck even with 35's most guys don't regear.

I had 4.56s in the Ranger with 33's. GREAT gear for larger tires. I used Ford Motorsports so they were an OEM cut gear. No whine. I put them in myself so I know the job was done right. Yukon is an OEM cut gear. Richmond is not. Richmonds will more than likely whine. Don't forget the install kits.. All the bearings, shims and crap you need to install gears. Don't do just the back, not with that big of a jump. One gear size would not hurt ya if you did not lock it in on pavement. That much is too much.
