Gear Ratio?????
i have a 2004 ford F150 XLT 4x4 with the 4.6. I had the stock 255/70R17 tires on it but decided to go with a larger tire Lt295/75/R17 (Nitto Terra Grapplers) with the help of a 2.5in leveling kit.It is all stock except for true dual exahust, cold air intake, and hypertech max energy. With the new tires on it feels sluggish taking off and pulling a trailer. Should i change the gear ratio. What ratio should i use and what axles do i have front and rear. THANKS

you can do it for around 800-1000 bucks if you drop the front diff yourself.
you can get gears for under 600, plus labor, alignment, fluid, etc. i got a quote of 300 bucks labor to take my truck into the dealer, they will do the rear and i will bring in the front diff

Let's be honest.. I don't know or claim to know the mechanical knowledge of the OP, but most people are not willing to drop their own front diff.

Different, But Not That Different:
Your change will have your speedo reading about 10% slow....60mph shown will be 66.5mph true.
If you take that into consideration, I don't see why you would want to spend the bucks and the time to "re-gear" your differentials. Just use the lower gears more often.

I am just throwing it out there, i have no idea how mechanically inclined the OP is either, i am just saying that it can be done for alot cheaper than most think, if they are willing to get there hands dirty
