Gear box noise

Gear box noise
Howdy. Recently I was pulling a TT up the hill to get to Big Bear and my transmission started making a grinding sound. I stopped and checked for loose shielding, a broken fan or shroud etc. I pulled out and found when I put the truck in 4H the noise went away and then when I went back into 2H it stayed away until I slowed again. Made it home and took it to Ford. They said it was a vacumn leak and replaced the line. They said there was no damage to the gearbox/transmission. Anyone ever experience this before?

Replying to my own post... saw several responses regarding 04-06 EWI module issues. This sounds like exactly what i had. I will check that but look at todays (05/19/09) posts and there is one about this noise.
