Default Gatorback belt

Anyone know what size belt my 04 fx4 screw has. One place says it is 102 inches someone else says 84 inch. Any help?

Call your local Ford parts place; they can tell you.

I replaced mine about 5 months ago; 4.2 V6. Got the belt from NAPA. They looked it up, sold me the correct one.

Can't tell you the size, perhaps one is for the V6, and the other is for the 4.6/5.4 V8's, or maybe one is for the 4.6 V8 and the other is for the 5.4 V8.....

Again, a quick call for a Ford dealership, ask for the parts department; they will tell you.

Sounds like there's a difference for accessories. One may be for a truck with out a/c or something.

Take the sucker off and go to the parts store with it. That way you know you're getting the right length.

I have an 04 FX4 with the 5.4 with AC and the Goodyear number is 4061015. I believe this is the longer belt. Definitely a great belt, much quieter. All you need is a 1/2" socket wrench, very easy to install.

Simple! I've changed one on the side of the road before. The first one I ever changed was on my dad's 89 Cheby. I was borrowing it from him and the freaking serpentine belt broke. The truck had been in a wreck about a year after my dad bought it and the dummies at Chevy forgot to replace the routing sticker under the hood! I had to figure it out on the fly with no picture to help! Luckily the old belt he had changed a couple of weeks before was in behind the seat, for an emergency.

Needless to say, it's simple. Btw, get a quality belt, not some cheapo like my dad bought. That's why it broke. Goodyear makes a great belt.

ive read on other posts saying they use the 4061025, not the one you stated. theyre all for the same application, FX4 5.4L with AC. was yours a little tight?

I imagine that if it was the wrong one it just plain wouldn't fit. It would either be way too small or way too big. Just my guess.

I'd call a local Ford dealer and confirm the part you need. They're crooks, but they should still be decent enough to tell a customer what part he/she needs.

I matched mine up to the belt I took off and they were right on. Wasn't tight at all. I remember when I was looking for the belt information online that I had the same issues with multiple belt options. When I went to Autozone they looked it up and their was only the one part number listed for my truck. I think that the heritage model may use a different part number but not sure on that. I think I paid around $35 for the belt. Hope that helps.
