Gas tank volume

Gas tank volume
2007 F150 XLT 5.4. How do I determine the fuel tank volume on this truck? I am trying to replace the fuel pump and all the parts stores whan to know wheelbase (easy) and fuel tank volume (26 or 35). Truck is dead in the water so I can't run it dry and fill it up. I am trying to avoid syphoning a 3/4 full tank and then refilling to figure this out. Vin research says 26 OR 35. Oy. Thanks fellas.

Are you sure your fuel pump is bad? Have you checked your FPDM (fuel pump driver module) located above the spare tire? They are notorious for rotting out.

FPDM Hmmm. A little history is in order here I guess. Truck failed to start one morning. Ether in air box got it to fire a bit so I knew I had spark. No noise from tank when key was turned. New fuel filter not a fix. Off comes the bed and fuel pump pulled. When hooked to 12v on bench she spun. Put it all back together and truck fired. I figured I might as well replace the pump now that the bed was off. The wife (a RN) drives this truck in the winter and I need it to be spot on. More selfish than anything as I don't want to go pick her up from work at 2:30 am. Hehe. Please tell me more about this FPDM. I do see a rusted metal cylinder over the spare. Easy to replace now. Thanks again.

FPDM controls the fuel pump, to control the fuel rail pressure. Its mounted on the rail above the spare tire. They rot out due to having two different metal touching. Once the metal casing crack water gets in and wrecks the board inside. Just do a search here on it.
I would drop the tire and look at it before dropping the tank for the fuel pump.
FPDM cost about $65+ depending where you get it from. The Dorman brand is a good replacement

I owe Doug and Jamie a beer. I found my FPDM and it crumbled apart in my hand. Local parts stores wanted $105 but I found one on the interweb for $58. Thanks guys, you saved me alot of money and head scratching.

Go to etis.ford.com click on "Vehicle" and enter your VIN. You will see every option your truck left the factory with.
Unfortunately fuel tank size is not listed, but there is a lot of good info there.
