my highway/city mix gives me 16.5 but thats with CAI, and Superchips Flashpaq with custom tune. Still saving for magnaflow exhaust. The flashpaq has the Millage XS tune in it. Btut i use 87 tune

Yeah the 5.4 is terrible in the city! Especially stop and go.

If you do a lot of stop and go then I wouldn't get one unless you want the added security of keeping your cargo completely safe you out of the weather.

Around town in stop and go traffic, tire inflation and a firmer shift tune should help the most. Tonneau, CAI, and exhaust will help more on the highway at higher speeds.

Thank you all for your input. I cannot believe the mpg I am getting. I know it is not the best of driving conditions but my 500+ hp Mustang gets 18 mpg...well that is if I am highway and with the cruse on....If I drive the mustang around town and get into it I could use a 1/2 tank in no time....

You have a flashpaq? and you downloaded the mileage xs ? I tried to see if their were any updates for my flashpaq the other day and they said there wasn't any. Also, I just checked my mileage yesterday of an average from my whole tank and it was 16.4 and I also do lot of mixed driving so were pretty damn close. I've got a custom flowmaster exhaust with a flashpaq set on stock with options, no intake yet but I'm working on it. If you get get your exhaust before I get an intake, let me know if the mileage goes up any so I can get an idea of what to expect.

But, if you put the same tranny and rear end gears in that Mustang that you have in the truck plus the added weight, you would see that 18 mpg drop down to the mpg you are getting in the truck.
Trucks arent built for great mpg and the amount of money you spend in the mods of exaust, intake, programmer, etc. will be hard to justify the increase of 1-2 mpg. A couple thousand dollars used for mods, could go quite aways in gallons of gasoline. Thats just my opinion.

On a side note, i have a co-worker that has a 06 4 door long bed 3/4 ton Chevy Duramax diesel that he uses to pull the big RV for family vacations on the weekend to the lake. He lives around 30 min from work but its a lot of start and stop traffic. When diesel shot up in prices, he bought a little late 90's model Geo Metro car that looks like a white tear drop on wheels for $600 dollars. He drives it from home to work and back because the little car gets like 40 mpg. He looks kinda funny but saves on gas. He is also the worlds biggest tight ****.

I tried one for a while in my 2003 f150 screw w/4.6 no help - took it out after 1 year. I had read about the metal fins breaking off and going into the motor on some cars. my advice don't waste the money
