Fx4 vs XLT suspension -what's the difference? rough ride
Just wondering what the difference is? My truck feel super stiff hitting everybump in the road,I'd compare the ride to a dump truck. It's a 2007 FX4 supercrew wth a 2" level and 285/65/18 nitto terra grapplers and has only 130 000kms on it. That's it, otherwise bone stock and the ride was stiff before the wheels and level. Today I drove my buddies 06 supercab with
300 000 on the chassis and it drives like a cadillac compared to mine.
So what are the differences?
What can I do to soften it up? Struts and shocks? OEM or do I have to go aftermarket? My bushings appear to be in good shape. Truck is pretty mint.

If you are using a spacer to level I would start here.

As Dirttracker18 asked, what pressure? Are these E rated tires? I run the exact same tires (Terra Grapplers), it's ROUGH! I've switched to Bilstien 5100's (although they're offroad shocks too) and no improvement. I have a 2.5" level but the truck was rough even before that.
I'm actually more convinced at this point it's the E-rated tires (in combination with air pressure of course). I haven't had a chance to throw a different set of tires on yet. My winters are also E-rated so I don't find any difference there either !

Yeah sorry for the reply. Truck rode rough with the stock 20's and all seasons I had before and only seemed to be even worse after switching to the fuel wheels and 18" terra grapplers.
I was running too much pressure in them, had them at 38 for towing. I have lowered them to 32 and there is a noticeable improvement. However it's still very stiff.
I was thinking of eventually switching to some KYB shocks to soften it up
