Default fusion key help....

Ok so i have both admin key for my truck and got a fusion key to program myself, but first it needs to be cut. Well home depot and walmart will not cut due to hd has a liabilty issue and walmart electronic reader wont let the person due it due to being a transponder key. Really i just want itcut so can cycle it and program myself. What is the trick to getting this done.

Where did you get the key?

If it was from eBay or Amazon etc. I wouldn't cut it at our Ford dealership either. If it's not a good quality key, the metal in the blade is so hard that it wears out my $100 cutting tip in seconds. Been there, done that, never again.

I would suggest that you keep trying local places that do key cutting, you're bound to find someone to do it.

I'm looking to do this for my 07 as well.. did you find the key on amazon or ebay? i would like to order a pair from amazon if they have them there. I have done ebay before, but would prefer amazon.. but if i have to do ebay i will. Will that key work for my truck?

I have a 2007 F150 XLT 4X4, SuperCrew. has keyless entry on the seperate fob, but not on the truck's door.

i found the link to do the re-program but hope there is an amazon source.. any help would be appreciated.

thanks!

thanks!

Wherever it's from, make sure it's a Rotunda or Stratec brand.

Sorry, I don't. And I'm not able to check right now either - I'm off work, on parental leave, for another few weeks.

So i got my keys, and they programmed ok (since i had 2 working keys already). however the key(new fusion style keys) just barely fits and is hard to turn only because of the rubber surround that is around the keyhole. did you have to modify your steering column, specifically the rubber trim around the keyhole.

thanks..

Why not just toss the key (ring it up as a learning lesson) and buy the right key from Ford? Sounds like it does not fit the ignition switch correctly, and your going to cause additional issues.

Stop going to chain places. Find a local locksmith. Also. Ford dealers by me will cut keys if you know how to program them yourself with already having two keys.
