mine does it too. I suppose I should replace the original belt at some point anyway. '06 with 106k but the belt looked ok the last time I checked.

Mine does it as well, the belt is spinning all the accessories, water pump, power steering, alternator, etc at fast rpms, then the truck shifts and rpms drop but the other accessories are still moving fast so they slip on the belt for a split second. I'm purchasing a Gatorback before too long...just looks tricky to replace in the crowded front of the engine

Hey I'm getting this as well. I have powertrain warranty for another 50,000km still would that be covered under warranty?

Belt and tensionner should be replaced eventually especially if it squeals at full throttle. Both are very simple to change and inexpensive. You can get away with just changing the belt but from experience the tensionner becomes weak and will not allow proper belt contact and eventually even a new belt could squeal.

Belts are wear items and not normally covered under warranty.

If you're going to replace the tensioner, I'd suggest checking the idler pulleys as well. Same load, same bearings, same probably failure point. When I replaced my tensioner (I have a 4.6) I checked the idler pulleys and they were near shot as well.

Last weekend I replaced tensioner and idler pulleys and belt. Had bad bearings on both the tensioner and idler. Took us less than an hour to replace everything. But the tensioner was damn near locked up it took a 3 foot cheater pipe to get slack in the belt. But all is good now. Hell I had forgotten how quiet my motor was
