Default Fuel tank Collapse after EVAP System Work

2004 F150 5.4L

I've read a few posts on this issue but most seem to be on 2009 and newer F150's that don't have fuel caps so I'm posting my question.

After replacing the canister purge valve solenoid and fuel feed tubes on top of the tank yesterday I drove to the airport this morning (30 miles) and noticed that my fuel tank had collapsed. I opened the gas cap to release the pressure. So knowing that I had the tank partially dropped recently, I'm thinking it could potentially be a couple things:

1. Crimp in the vent tub when setting the tank back in place. (Thinking this is pretty unlikely)

2. EVAP Solenoid in the engine bay is bad?

3. Bad canister purge valve solenoid?

Does anyone have any thoughts on this? My truck is sitting at the airport and I'm out of town all week. Headed home on Friday so I won't be able to look at it more closely until then. Any thoughts would be helpful!

Quick update: I stopped by Ford this afternoon and told them what was going on. The tech felt strongly that my charcoal canister was clogged and needed to be replaced.

Anyone?
