Fuel rail pressure sensor question
#11
It's Friday...I need to drink more.
I've yet to have an FPDM fail, but then again, my F150's I've owned have never seen salt, snow, or off roading conditions that allow this module's backside to corrode.
However, do our engines have two temp controls (a sender and a sensor)? One for the gauge, and one for the PCM/ECU?

I had very similar hesitation but when going up hills at about 2000 rpm it would act like it was going to shift to 4th from 3rd. I just changed the left front O2 sensor and it seems to have gone away but it is still in the relearn period after resetting the ecu so it may come back. I plan on replacing the right side too as soon as I can figure out how to get to it.

When the plugs and coil packs were replaced, what brand was used? Many here state that anything other than the expensive motorcraft COP's should not be used. Also, the springs in the boot that goes from the COP to the plug should be replaced, as they can get compressed and not make a good contact onto the plug.
Cleaned the throttle body? You've tossed quite a bit of parts at this problem, so I'm not one that will recommend any more. At this point, I'd try another dealer; take the service manager or mechanic for a test drive and show them first hand what your complaint is.

You need to describe your vehicle in detail. But you also need to start a new thread. Tagging onto this post is going to frustrate all who respond.
Start a new thread! Look for "New Thread" near to top left of the 2004 - 2008 Ford Truck Forum and go from there.

Plugs and cops motorcraft and throttle body was cleaned initially but ended up putting a new one in. Most of these parts were for maintenance because I bought the truck with 98 k miles. The only extra stuff I should have maybe waited on were the refurbished injectors and maybe the cats but I don't regret anything in the long run. The Ford dealer wanted it for the whole day or more and I said "no". Im not paying anyone $1,000 for diagnostics. The mechanic did agree the idle was low and did a reflash but other than that had no pertinent info after having it for 2 hours. Said it could be the pcm or a host of other things which is why Im on this forum. It seems no 2 idle or other problems with these trucks are the same. What fixes one does'nt fix the other. Im just doing the best I can with searching and reading and hoping someone has or had a similar situation I have and with a fix. Im a weekend self taught guy that does'nt mind working on my truck but get a little lost with super technical diagnostics. i know it could possibly be one of my new plugs or cops or whatever but Im out of ideas unless I periodically replace other things such as cam pos sensors, starter etc but Im putting a freeze on that. The most frustrating thing is that it never throws a single code in months. Anyway, thanks for the response
