Fuel Inertia Switch not resetting
#11
I have added the pictures of the shorted wire within the fuel pump assembly to the main post.
Since my last post I have checked all the fuses at the panel with a multimeter and they all have continuity. However, I do not have access to alligator clips so I can't energize the relays to properly test for full functionality.
Pardon my ignorance on how an inertia switch works, but why wouldn't an inertia switch reset? I found a picture of what the inside of the switch looks like and I can't understand what would be preventing mine from being reset. Any insight into the matter is greatly appreciated!
Thanks again for all your posts, I am glad to have access to such a helpful community.

When the switch is tripped it moves the button to the outer edge. To reset it you push it inward and it should stay there. To test, tap it gently with a screwdriver handle and it should move outward. It is, simply put, a magnet inside. If it is not staying in then test/bypass it by disconnecting it and adding a 20amp fuse between the two wires making it a complete circuit. If the fuse blows you have a bigger problem. If it does not blow, leave it there until the problem is found.
