fuel or electronic problem??? HELP!
I have a 2004 f-150 xlt, 5.4liter V-8 automatic. Recently something aggravating started happening. I noticed my engine speed at idle was gettin really low, especially when in gear. Well, I went ahead and went down the road. When I got where I was going and stopped my truck I hadn't even taken it out of drive yet, and the RPM's dropped way down below normal, and the damn thing quit. Now it does it every time I stop if I don't feather the fuel while I'm sitting still. I haven't had a check engine light, I put my programmer on and checked for DTCs and none. I changed the fuel filter and that didn't help either, it acts exactly like the idle air control, or throttle position sensor but why would it not throw a code? Has this ever happened to anyone here, I don't know what to check next before I take it to the dealer and get raped with no lube.

how?
Hey, I appreciate the reply. I was wondering, I have an AFE cold air intake, and a throttle body spacer, is their anything in particular on either one of them it could be. And also by,"Check to see if it is binded" what should I be lookin for on the throttle body, a vacuum or something? thanx

The throttle body has a butterfly valve that controls the airflow into the engine. Sometimes dirt and oil can buildup and not let the valve move freely.
