Default Front tow hooks on 2007 F150 2WD

Anybody put tow hooks on a 2WD? It looks like I can cut the front off the plastic part of the bumper where they mount. The holes are in the frame already.

I put tow hooks on mine: https://www.f150forum.com/f4/adding-...imited-277591/
Here's someone cutting his own holes: https://www.f150forum.com/f38/those-...188652/index3/
I got my hooks from a junkyard. Be advised: while many have said the PNs are the same between the 04-08s and the 09-14s, the 04-08 hooks are slightly longer.

And the '04 to '08's are double the price of the '09's and above! If I were doing this, I'd go with the shorter '09 ones.

I would advise paying more for the 04-08. The shorter ones will be tucked up under the bumper farther, while the 04-08 will sit pretty much flush which would be what you want IMO.

I concur. I test fit an '09-style hook on my '08, and the shorter hook left limited room to hook up a cable/tow strap. The longer '08 hook was essential in my situation.

I did this on mine. I got a couple tow hooks off an Expedition in a junk yard for $5. I took off the lower bumper valance and carefully trimmed the holes in them for the hooks to stick through. Pretty nice $5 dollar mod IMO. I did end up taking them off after this pic for a fresh coat of black paint.
