Default Freaking Out about tires!@!!

I know this is such a dead horse, so I appologize. But I just spent a lot of money and have used the search for about 3 days. Found a lot of info. I just ordered Nitto Terra Grapplers 295 70 R18 with XD Monster rims. I have a 2006 4X4 XLT Short bed. Put a 2.5 inch HBS leveling kit on it the other day. These tires compute to 34.3 inches. Will I be OK? I have seen that some have rubbing issues and some don't. I have no problem trimming the black vallance on the bottom of the front bumper but dont want any problems with the control arm and such. Just looking for some possitive input I hope. Hopefully get rims and tires by Tuesday. Any words of encouragement would be great. I actually had ordered 32.6 inch tires and just changed the order today to the bigger ones. Thanks to all and I will post pics soon. Thanks. Cj

You should be ok. My buddy just installed the same set up just a little smaller tire on his 04, but its 2wd and since yours is 4x4 with a leveling kit you should be good.

Yes, 4x4's can clear up to 35's with a level. 2wd guys are not that lucky.

So, Fx4, Lariats, XLTs, all have same ride height and suspension?
I guess I thought FX4s sat higher stock.

This is probably a dumb question, but is it possible to put 20" Rockstars with a 35 inch tire on a 04 fx4 with just a levelling kit? Only reason I ask is because I would like to get the rims and tires before I put a lift on the truck. I figure the rims will make it look awesome in the meantime while I am saving for the lift.

Thanks in advance as always guys!

All the same... The difference in the FX's are the shocks.

Yes, the size of the wheel has no effect on the height of the tire.

The shocks were Rancho's on the FX4's but they stopped that in 07-08 I think and the backspacing on the wheel could be an issue.

Ahhh ya I guess that makes sense now, just the profile of the tire would change... Thanks for the response.

Yes, 2008 was the last year for the Bilstein shocks. The new FX's retain the standard LSD rear and skidplates though.
