NADA clean retail is $16,800, Clean trade in $13,500. I wouldn't pay more than 15K and I'd be a lot more comfortable around the $13,500

Unless you find the right buyer, who wants exactly what you've done and trusts that it was done correctly, aftermarket addons and modifications don't neccessarily add to the value...they can easily deduct from the value.

Thats at a Ford dealer though. Seems Ford dealers want stupid money for used F150's. The nearest Ford dealer around here had an '05 FX4 for $19,995 a few weeks ago. Doesnt mean theyll get it though

Definitely priced too high...remind the seller than the lift kit doesn't add value. What options does the truck have?

I'm in southeastern PA where everything is expensive, and I paid $17k two months ago for a fully loaded '08 FX4 supercrew with 100k miles, and that was from a dealer. I wouldn't go higher than $14k for that truck, and it doesn't sound like the seller is anywhere close to that mark. If you really like the truck, get a written quote from a dealer and give it to the seller to show him the potential cost of the plug maintenance you'll have to do.

Like the last person said, the private party value of the truck is realistically between the NADA trade in a retail. If the seller needs to get out from under the payment, he should be willing to negotiate, though it may take some time for him to come down to earth about the loss he's probably about to take on the truck.

Yeah I may end up having to keep looking, he still owes 19.5k on it so he doesn't want to take too big of a hit. I found a 2006 Lariat with less miles and more options I really like too at a dealer that is spotless selling for slightly over the NADA that I could likely talk them down a little on.

I found this truck that caught my attention : http://altoona.craigslist.org/cto/2997527471.html that is an older ad, but the guy has been trying to sell this truck for a month now. It just recently appeared on another local online classified, the NDA is 16.5k, do y'all think 16k would be a fair offer for that truck? Or would I still be overpaying?
