Default Fouled plug/coil pack w/o check light

05, just replaced #1 plug and coil pack according to error code. Ran good for 200 miles, now having the same symptoms w/o an error code. I am a DIY and still learning. I have an OBD-II sensor but I don't know what to look for without a code. Any help would be great!

Finally had an error code, briefly, check engine light flashed when I stood on the gas, misfire #4! I'm back to chasing plugs and coil packs.

How many miles does it have? Might just be time to do them all

It's expensive but I'd do all 8 at once. My '04 with 130k miles I was broke and only did them in twos, but it wasn't until I had all 8 coils and plugs swapped that she started really running well again.

...then somebody ran her off the road. ho-hum.

Shouldn't be more than $150 with Motorcraft plugs and a set of off-brand coils.

Agreed. It can be pricey, but it's worth it in the long run. If one is going bad, they could all be about to go bad.
