Ford rebuilt 5.4 engine due to recall, now IRMC bad....

Ok. Gotcha. Will I be able to get to those when I take the intake manifold off? And will I need anything besides the two manifold gaskets to take it off. I just want to be prepared to finish the job once I start. And is there anything I need to know before I take it off? Someone said I need to keep my key on or something?

Another thing I've seen numerous times is when the manifold is installed after a repair the tech does not run the wire harness for the IMRC, knock sensors and CHT sensor correctly. It happens all the time with inexperienced mechanics and techs. It can damage the rods and motor if the harnesses get pulled and stress the IMRC system.

Maybe this pic helps see what you are dealing with back there. Such a simple part but so far to get to. Good luck. Hopefully you will save yourself from selling out a bunch of money like I did to have someone else fix it for me.

Code P2004
I realize this is an old thread but I just pulled code P2004 from our truck. I recently had the heads off. I got the wiring harness in between the rod on the back of the intake. I'm thing the harness should be above the rods & controller. Hoping someone can verify.
