Bought my '08 with 30,000 miles and purchased Fords Premium Care for up to 100,000 or 2016, whichever comes first for like $1200. 1000 miles after the factory 3/36 ran out my cat converter goes bad. Cha ching!!!! Just paid for the warranty. Nicest thing abouth the ford warranty, obviously is that all ford shops will honor it. Plus it covers "everything" except rubber, plugs and brakes. It even includes replacement of ball joints. $1200 IMHO is a small price to pay if you plan on running your truck for 100,000 miles.

It's really a gamble -- you're essentially prepaying maintenance, and Ford is betting that you won't have a need to use the warranty. They're right because they wouldn't sell it if it was a money losing proposition for them.

On my 99 Expy, I think a warranty would have paid for some of the repairs prior to 100k, so it would have been a wash for me. However, keeping a vehicle more than 100k miles is where everything starts to break down and where you really start to pay out (unless you fix it yourself, but then you have to still buy the parts)....

thanks for the info, thinking about buying one. Just bought truck new yesterday, but dealer tried to sell me a 3rd party warranty from fidelity warranties.
Not sure. From what I have read it is 6 years from the date of the the origingl purchase, just extends the warranty that you may already have

Cadged seems to know a little more about it than I do. This week I will make up my mind.
