I just got my F150 and of course like so many others my FORD Emblems are bubbling and discolored and such. I'm coming from the Jeep world so I know how to use the search and have done so and saw some things suggested like overlays and what have you. But was just curious as to whats the better option: A) To buy new badges(and prob have the same thing happen again or B) Try one of these overlays from some company. Now the people who are using the overlay, did you just stick it overtop the crappy surface or was there some sort of prep/dismantling of the badge that you did??? Sorry for the long post I just bought this near perfect used F150 and the badges are such an eyesore so I'd like to fix them. Thanks for everyones help in advance.
If you are going for something different, try www.patriotdecals.com.
That is the website that Raider reccomends. They will put anything you want on them (except "FORD"). I just ordered front and back replacements with my college logo on them. $9 shipped.

^Yep, I recommend PatriotDecals as well
As for prep work, all I did was clean the old oval with rubbing alcohol. I then sprayed windex directly onto the oval and slid the decal into place. Just make sure to keep smoothing out the edges until it dries, as the rounded surface makes it kinda hard to keep down.

I used wheel polish and it got rid of the blue pretty quick. I just pulled the emblem off and did it on the work bench and then put a couple coats of filler primer on it and sanded the entire thing smooth and painted it black to match the truck and color sanded and buffed it. could use some accents or something so i'm thinking about letting my friend that pin stripes paint the ford logo on there.
