Default Ford 5.4L 3v Engine Timing Walkthrough

Well I have finally had a chance to do this video that has been along time coming and this particular engine bay was perfect for filming. This procedure applies to any 5.4L 3v engine, no special tools required nice and easy I walk you through it!

Mark the cam with a paint marker or nail polish in a couple places and corresponding marks on the cam caps, remove the caps. I loosened in multiple steps from center to ends of cams to ensure that they loosened up evenly. take the cams out then change your lash adjusters and followers. If you mark the cams right, the hardest part is getting the followers to stay in position when you put the cam back in, a couple of mine fell off when I put the cam in place, they just sit there on top of the lash adjuster and valve. make sure that you have a set of vice grips to hold the cam in place when you tighten the caps.

How do you get your timing back to in-time if its no where near time ?
