Default Ford 150 with 4.6 vibration around 35 - highway speeds

As I just bought the truck, I am not sure what to look for with this issue. Under 35 no vibration, anyone near that or over, the truck seems to vibrate quite a bit. Just had new tires put on. Any ideas for me to look for? Mechanic will take care of it but want to try to diagnose on my own. Thanks for the help.

Most likely needs a tune up. Plugs, COP's, fuel filter and clean the throttle body and MAF.

ended up taking it to a ford dealership. Turns out to be a binding that is frozen on the rear drive shaft. How reliable is it if I get one from a junkyard? Otherwise I am looking at over $300 as opposed to $70 bucks

Do you want it to happen sooner, later or way later? Buy the part new, peace of mind is everything.

Not to say the stealership is wrong but I would look into the rear parking brake problem that our trucks has (parking brake does not release because of corrosion on the actuator assembly).
No too tough to troubleshoot.

My 09 does the same exact thing. Feels like it's going over rumble strips between 35 and 39 mph. Only when cruising or under easy accelerating, not merging onto a highway. Dealer said there is a TSB (09-22-12). I'm fighting with them because they said my platinumcare esp doesn't cover the shim that is called for. ... don't know if this will help you or not. ... good luck.
