well due to unforeseen events..project is put on hold indefinetly...sorry folks...upside is that after all the research i did, you can build your own kit for about a 1/3 the price of sts kit...guess it depends on what route you want to go.

Sorry to hear that. I completely agree that STS is WAY overpriced on their kits. For 1800 - 2500 you could be spooling with a higher quality turbo and components... eBay and craigslist is chock full of intercoolers, wastegates, BOV's, and piping kits that shave a lot of time cost and time.. If I hit the lottery one day or get a good 2 weeks of unspoken for downtime, I will probably try my hand at Turboing my F-150 myself..

The reason STS is expensive is because they are really the only company that builds a complete bolt on kit for our trucks. Plus the turbos are high quality. I'm 99% percent sure garret builds their turbos. Their single universal turbo kit is only like 3000 with a bunch of extras. One stop shopping. That's where the bigger price tag comes in. I personably can't wait to buy my STS. Twin ball bearing turbos water meth injection, intercooler, everything. Ya I may pay a little extra but I'm okay with that for once stop shopping.

I agree, they have a certain convenience factor that your paying for.. I never thought they sucked, but there complete kits still require a lot of fab work and thinking... Plus, with a turbo, you really can't get around needing a dyno tune with these trucks. The tune they give you with the predator is just to get you down the road to a local dyno tuner. So if you don't live near STS, its hard to realize the whole value of their kits.

Everything pictured here is their basic $3,800 - $5000 kit.. eBay and Craigslist can get you 80% of what is pictured (except the turbo), for 500 - 1000 with an intercooler.

Ill agree with you on some. But you can take it to any dyno. With just a little know how you can do most the tuning yourself. But correct me if I'm wrong but you are comparing STS which is all brand new parts and equipment to used stuff from eBay and Craigslist. Me personally I would want to go with all new stuff when it comes to a turbo set up. But that's just me. And their complete kits I doubt require any more fab than the fab required for a supercharger. I've seen the STS kit installed on other vehicles and as long as its vehicle specific its a pretty easy instal.

i agree with I just don't know..with performance parts, unless coming from an extremely good friend, its better to go ahead pay the extra money and buy it new. the guy i talked to at sts, cant think of his name right off hand, but he was helpful. he went through every part and piece that came with the full kit. even told me pretty much everything about the turbo. i'll prolly end up buying it, it just wont be right now like i had planned. i'm still curious about the 01-04 mustang twinscrew s/c. from my understanding everything bolts up perfectly. the intake mouth is on the wrong side, but i wouldn't think thats to much trouble to overcome. 01-04 mustang 4.6 heads, intake, ect. bolt to our engine only differance is that our trucks are fly by wire not sure what year the pony went to fbw or if it will bolt up
