Well from what I found it looks like when the light switch is in auto the instrument panel reads the resistance to tell if the fogs are on or off. With that I cant wire the fogs to be controlled with the stock switch with the headlight switch in auto. Good news is if you really want drl then you should not have control any ways they should just be on lol. So if you can live with drl that you cant control with stock switch then I can hook you up.

On the back of the headlight switch there is a tan with white stripe wire @ pin 10 thats the hot wire. Tie into that wire and run to pin 30 on a relay.
Next find the white with black stripe wire @ pin 9 thats the fog light on wire. Tie into that wire and run to pin 87 on a relay.
Pin 85 on the relay is ground so wire to a ground however you like.
Pin 86 is the trigger wire it goes to the ignition switch @ pin 1 its a dark blue with light green stripe. You can also find this wire in all the wires that go up the steering column.

With this setup when you turn on the truck only the fog lights will come on and will turn off when you turn off the truck. They will still light up the small light on switch to let you know your fogs are on and they will work like stock when you turn on your high beams they will still turn off and back on when you switch back to low. Best I can do.

05jakev,
I have 2 questions:

1. Do I cut the wires or just splice into them.
2. Can I leave my headlight switch in the Auto mode so the lights will turn on at night.

Peggy

Splice in to and yep your lights will work. be careful Do not cut the dark blue light green @ ignition switch it runs almost every thing in your truck well hell be carefull on all of them. If your not sure how to splice you may want to find a friend that does and as always unhook your battery.

05jakev,
I did as you instructed and everything works just fine. I am so glad that you took the time to help me. Thank you for all your trouble. I am truly grateful to you. I would post some pics but I don't know how yet.

Peggy

Yeah I am. I'm in the process of buying the lights and trying to work out how to do this on a 2012. Just the wiring to sort out.

ah ok, I don't know the 2012 as well... Is yours Canadian or US? I do think they changed some of it in the next models (2009 and up) because I believe and could be wrong that the DRL's only go on when you shift the truck into gear. My 2005, it's basically a dummy relay/diode that is permanently on as soon as ignition is switched to on regardless of the truck running or not. I was able to tie in after the DRL relay though and I snipped it. I had to add a series of relays to detect if the headlamp switch is on (so that the fogs aren't ALWAYS on), then a relay so I could flip my DRL's from headlamps or fogs (this was an addition). It shouldn't be too bad... If you don't care about your fogs being permanently on then it should be fairly easy but I didn't want that in my case.

Mine is a US 2012 with the DRL not activated as such. I want to have it wired so the fog lights come on as soon as the car is started and off when the ignition is switched off. I will replace the globes in the fog lights with LED globes to be used as DRLs. No luck so far, but working on it. Will keep you posted.
this is the link to the lights. http://www.vleds.com/bulb-type/drl-f...45-1-pair.html
