Fog Light Lenses Melting???

Default Fog Light Lenses Melting???

I put the Silverstar #9145 in the fog lights of my 08 screw and they have been used maybe a total of 2 hours and now there are burn spots in the lens ,they were actually melting. so my ?? is are there any aftermarket companies the sell just the lens.?? those are not direct fit..so you would have to spend some time getting them to fit properly..try these. they are direct replacement of the OEM ones.

Do you have those or has any bought them??.Are the lenses glass and do they plug right in .No cutting the harness???

I had the same problem with the same bulb.
This was my cure..I took a dremel and cut out the melted lens and mounted a set of fog lights in the stock housing retaining the factory mounts and adjusting screws.I bought these on e-bay from bling.com..even got a free hat whoopee..but the cool part.The fog lights have a small blue bulb..you can change the color if you want..that comes on with the parking lights and then when you turn them on as fog lights they have the super white bulb..so there 2 lights in one.

Your truck takes a 9140....don't look like they make a silverstar in that number.....I put in the 9145st in my '04....which it takes that bulb number....only difference that I can think of for the change is that you have the round fogs whereas I have the oblong
