I'm sure this has been discussed ad nuaseam, but are there any advantages to having dual exhaust come out of the side versus straight out of the back? Or is it really just a matter of preference? Thanks for the info!

The difference is primarily aesthetic. Sound increase will be minimal inside of the truck with side exits (maybe you would notice it a bit with your windows down). However, If you use your truck for towing, you would probably want to run side exits so that you aren't bouncing your exhaust gases and sound off of your trailer, boat, etc.
