Default Restoration product for head lamps and fogs.

Hey all! Just curious on which brand/applicator would be best for restoring my milky looking lights to factory shine quality. I know replacement 04 lamp housing are costly. Any tips?

You can usually find good looking used OEM's for cheap on Craigslist. That's the route I'd take.

I used the kit that 3M makes and it turned out great. I have some before and after pics in this thread...

The headlights still look very good. Yellowing a bit but nothing bad like before.

I wet sand with 1500 grit and use a random orbital polisher with a medium cut compound and finish with a fine cut polish then wax, makes them look better than new! Treat them like your paint pretty much. Even replacement lights get dull over time. Save your money and properly clean your old ones.

wet sand 600 then 800. Apply an even coat of adhesion promoter, then 3 coats of clear. they will turn out better than new!

I agree with 5150. Dry and wet sand with 1000 grit, polish, wax & grease remover, scuff with grey scotch brite, 2-3 medium coats of quality automotive clear. No more fading.... Ever!!!! Been doing this method since before the home polishing kits became available. Haven't ever had one come back. Always a perfect result.
