Default Flat spot on cold mornings

I got my 2008 SCrew about 2 months ago, and it had sat at the dealer for a long time, which is why I got such a good price. They had to change one of the tires right away, because it had developed a flat spot which caused a shimmy. Stock tires are Perilli Scorpions.

I live in Connecticut, and on these cold mornings, I think I'm getting a flat spot again, in the front, which goes away after about ten minutes of driving.

Has anyone had similiar experience, and do you think this is covered by warrenty?

Otherwise, great truck.

Default dealer

take it to the dealer, explain the problem and have them drive it first thing in the morning (get a loaner and leave it partked there overnight toget the best results) then when they drive it... or you drive it with the mananger in the pass seat... they will see the problem and then they will fix it. My truck I got the extended warr it covers the tires, rims for the 100,000 miles... tires issues, road hazzards ect....

You said the flat spot goes away after ten minutes of driving. That is dependent on tire composition. Summer tires flatspot all the time when sitting overnight (in the Summer). The compounds are really soft. My Pilots did it on my car and my Goodyear F1 replacements do it also. And after 10-15 minutes, the tires warm up and the flat spot goes away. Its possible the tires you got sat at the dealer for so long they took a permanent set (who knows, months). If its a Winter tire, they have a softer compound than All Seasons to help them grip in cold weather (use Winter tires in warm weather and the tire is too soft and wears very quick. Go to Tire Rack and see what type of tire you have, could save you a trip to the dealer.

Have the same tires on my brand new FX2. Also felt flat spots on the tires. I took it to the dealer and they replaced 3 of the tires and told me that they failed some kind of a test. Basically they weren't round.

Thanks, brinks13081. That sounds right. Never had this problem before, in 40 years of owning cars and trucks.

I'll give them a call.

I had that with two of my tires. They will do a road force test on them and replace them if needed.
