When I pulled the plug I found that the electrode was gone and the bail was also missing. Also, the porcelain was spinning freely within the metal sleeve.
Replaced the plug and put the COP back on. Started the engine and found it was still missing. It then occurred to me that I had put the original COP that I had replaced on cylinder 5 for troubleshooting. As it turned out, that coil was bad as a result of the broken plug.
Cleared codes and wrapped up the problem. Thanks for all the feedback guys
Awesome. Good job diagnosing and fixing the problem! That's why you always pull the codes first before throwing parts at it!!

Just when I thought this thread was closed.......My CEL came on again under normal driving conditions. No degraded performance. Pulled a single code, P0465-Purge Flow Sensor Circuit Malfunction. WTF is this? I did get a gas cap alert on my message center so I replaced the gas cap. After five drive cycles CEL is still on. Have not had time to troubleshoot or dig in. But if anyone has seen this before, gimmee a shout!
