Flashing CEL
Ok so last night I was driving and had to slow down real quick and speed up pretty fast after stomping on the gas the Check engine light started flashing at me. Seemed to drive fine tho. Is this something I should be worried about?

go today a auto parts store and have them check the diagnostic codes most auto parts stores will do it for free.... also had you just gotten gas... could be as simple as a gas cap loose or somthing along those lines...

i wouldnt think so... but you never know.... i would take it to a auto zone ... or some kind of auto parts store they will be able to check the codes and give you a good idea of whats wrong

Well went to the auto parts store (Autozone) they hooked up and said they didn't find any codes. Told me unless it was flashing when they hooked it up they couldn't get a code. Hopefully it is nothing...

Flashing MIL usually indicates a misfire. There are permanent codes (ones that set the MIL on solid) and temporary/pending codes, like those for misfires..... Expensive OBDII readers will read pending as well as permanent codes, cheap ones will only read permanent codes.
ETA: A temporary misfire will flash the MIL but not set it solid, there has to be a number of misfires detected within a certain number of cycles in order for it to illuminate.
Trans issues, such as overtemp, shift actuator failure, etc are usually indicated by a flashing O/D off indicator.
This can/does vary by year of course...

Ive had the same problem. It could very well be a detected misfire. It will only flash then cut off for a while. As the misfire gets worse you will be able to feel it, and the light will stay on constantly, but start flashing when the heavy misfire occurs, as mine does now. In my experience the coil pack go out. Haven't found a permenant fix for it yet. Very annoying problem

i learned in school today that lots of cars that have it flash are either because of the gas cap or the cats are getting warm and starting to melt. my guess is probably the gas cap one
