Default Fix for rusting around fuel door??

So, like many of you, around my gas door was rusting. had it fixed did it again within a few months they fixed it again under warranty but I know I few months down the road it's going to start rusting again. Is there a fix for this? something I can put on it? I'm positive it's from the fuel neck moving the rubber rubs the Paint and then water and stuff gets in it and then it rusts. I'm just looking for ANY kind of fix
You guys may have come up with. Thanks

I havent had any issues but you'd think a tougher paint behind the fuel door would help. Maybe a bed liner or rocker/undercoating spray can

That's smart never thought of that shouldn't be too hard to do. That would probably work thanks.

Hopefully they just didn't sand and paint or you will be going back a third time.

I went in a few days ago to see the work and they had the whole rubber and door off only the fuel neck was there, they had it primed and ready to paint.

I had my fixed and about 14 months later it was starting to bubble. So ford fixed it again for free and this time put 3m tape around the filler neck to stop it from rubbing. We will see! I think I got a 3yr warranty on the work.
