Default First day being registered on the forum!!!!

Hey guys new to the forum and I enjoy reading the posts that every one posts and all the help that people give. So I took my truck to the shop today to get an oil change for the first time and found out I need new shocks spark plugs and a new power steering pump. I have the 4.6 liter and have been reading about the trouble with the 5.4 liter and how people have had to pay a 1000 dollars for me, I got quoted 200. My question is as far as shocks go what should I put on? I feel like I want a shock that is good on the highway and if I choose to go off road I want them to be comfortable too, what do you guys recommend? Thanks for the advice.

Is your truck leveled yet? If not and its something you want, look at the Bilstien 5100's, they will give you a 2" level that looks way better than stock. Might even get you the Cali lean

When I bought it a couple months ago I wasn't sure exactly but my mechanic said today that it has been lifted so I'm pretty sure they put a leveling kit on the front to fit the tires I'm just not sure how much

look in your fender wells and if you see a spacer then you are leveled. no reason to put it up on a lift to find out. and the bilstein's are a good route to take or rancho's.

I only said that because they had it on the lift already but I definitely go look at it for sure. Thanks for the advice

If it is a physical spacer liftin it 3inches then oem sized shocks will work. The bilsteins and rancho quick lift are leveling struts so they eliminate the spacer and you just have the shock leveling your truck. Most people prefer the leveling struts but I don't think it really matters.

Oh and I wouldn't go more than a 2in leveling kit it if your 4x4 because your cv axles will be at a very extreme angle.

Good thing I'm 4x2 is this going to have an effect I may not lift it just yet but I do need to get some new shocks, the blistens are a little bit out of my price range but the ranchos I found I feel at a good price foe the 5000 series for about 50 bus for four of them and they have a Mail In rebate right now so I might go with those.
