ok so i have a 2004 f150 4x4 xlt 5.4 triton and i need new u joints. now i can buy one for 350+ but i read some links saying that there is a kit that has a tool to remove the old press on joint and convert it to c clips now i did some research and was hard to find. now i found this one on ebay is this the one i need and will it a be simple to just but the new joint or would i have to rebalance the shatf?? also if someone has a write up of how to do it, it will be great

There are numerous vids on YouTube showing how to.
From what I have read, if you have staked u joints - not a good idea for home replacement.
Have you confirmed that yours are staked? Some are and some are not.
The non staked are an easy replacement with just a few hand tools. A vise is helpful but not necessary.

^^^Not in all cases. I did mine this past weekend and it took two days or soaking in pb blaster, vigorous application of heat, and one heck of a bench vice to get the damn things out. OP if you have a northern truck with the c clip u joints just be ready for a good bit of work. If you have staked joints you might be better off just getting a new drive shaft IMHO
