Had the same issue while going up slight inclines, replaced the plugs and issue resolved. All four on driver side broke, but passenger side came right out. The lisle tool made the change very simple, just time consuming.

I'm not trying to highjack this thread and sorry for changing the subject but it just seemed that there are a lot of knowledgeable f150 owners on here that may be able to help..... I have the ticking/knocking sounds as well but that'll be tackled at a later date since I've heard of so many instances where it doesn't hurt anything.

So after post a few days ago having issue that rereading all post on this thread I'm not seeing, of course could be blind.
Replaced timing chain, guides (passenger side was in a few pieces which fished out and placed together to ensure all pieces their), tensioners, a lash adjuster that had collapsed and its follower. Phasers appeared fine so opted to save those few bucks at the time.
After taking apart an extra time because timing was off and it wouldn't start. Second time started up and ran better than has. Took it to work next day no problems until almost in driveway started running rough, cel came on and as I was getting ready to put it in park oil pressure gauge dropped.

P00340
P0022
P0011
P0021
Currently waiting for phasers and VCt solenoid a to come in but any ideas if something more than that might be continuing issue.

This truck is killing me. I literally spent all summer working out problems with it.

Before all this started, I swapped the cylinder heads because the seals and valve seats were leaking and I was burning oil like crazy and getting smoke during start up. I also changed Timing chains, Tensioners, Cam Phasers, VCT solenoids, VCT Solenoid gaskets - the whole thing.

I was getting a P0012 and P0340 and the engine was running rough at idle. It would stall.

So last weekend I ripped the front end off the engine again and reset the timing on the Passenger side. I'm pretty sure I was one tooth off.

Over the last two days, the truck ran great. Lots of power, no misses.

Now, I get a slight miss every now and then and I get the following codes:

P0012
P0340

Overall the truck runs well, but I get random slight misses.

Any ideas what it can be now??

Your oil pressure dropped because you have pieces stuck in the pick up tube. IF it happens, shut the truck off for a few min, and start up. - the oil will wash out the pieces.

You'll need to remove the oil pan and get those pieces out.

If its a 4x4, its a PITA. I had to unbolt my front differential & axle half shafts and lower them to get the oil pan out.
