I would like a quote for a set of long tube headers with high flow cats

Default Ticking and rough cold start

I have a 2004 Fx4. I have the loud dieselesc noise and very rough cold start up.
Do I have the cam phaser issue as well?
Thanks.

Hey, i have an 08 F150 lariat with 138xxx km on it... Unfortunately my 5.4 has that tick and rough idle/shaking at low rpm when warm... Went to 3 mechanics and finally the 3rd gave me infos on whats going on...

Phasers look good, but one of the chains has slack!

But before he took my Darling apart he did a oil pressure test.. it has low oil pressure... 18 psi and i think i need 25?

I guess i need a new engine? Or would the timing chain job do the fix?

depends on if the low pressure is caused by a failing oil pump or clogged journals

Or failed tensioner gasket or clogged oil pump pickup screen. Some people have seen an increase in oil pressure after replacing the timing components.

I would guess that your chain guides are broken clogging your oil pick-up tube. Your shaking at low idle is probably due to the slack in your timing chain because of your guides. This is something that can be fixed. I certainly wouldn't jump to a new engine without some further investigation. You should also have a mechanic look at the cylinder contribution. If you have numbers jumping all over the place, look into your cats...

I picked up the truck from the shop yesterday and parked it behind the house.. I will take the oil pan off when it gets warmer outside and check it out before the new engine. Just tiered of my truck for now and its too cold outside. Do i need a new gasket after i take off the oil pan?

I always recommend a new gasket. They are cheap and haven't been compressed before. Good luck!
