Default Fender well trimming photo request

I tried some research and can not get a clear direct example of my question.

So, 295/60-20 Nitto Trail Grapplers ( 34x12 ), XD Monster +18 5.71"bs wheels. I just put Bora 1.5" spacers on to make them poke out to more of a -12 offset look. I absolutely love the stance, very happy. However there is expected rub, but it is more than I expected. I basically want to know how should I go about trimming the plastic corner of the back of the wheel well down. The tire rubs into the painted fender flare also, which makes me a bit concerned for the good of the flare. Some detailed techniques, photos, what tool(s) to use, any info would be appreciated. I've never done this and want it to remain clean and unnoticeable.

Here is a photo of where the tire meets the wheel liner. I should note that I have already removed the molded splash guards. The tire is rubbing the bottom most screw on the fender flare.

I used a razor knife and tin snips for that spot when I trimmed. Then I zip tied the flare underneath for added strength and to keep it tighter to the body..

I might suggest you remove the mud flaps as well..

As posted in the original message, I have removed the mud guards already and that fixed half of my problem. Thanks for the info, so a carpenter's style knife will be enough to cut the hard plastic. My google search rendered an angle grinder to be the best/quickest/cleanest option for this stuff, whether plastic or metal. So there isn't any type of metal that needs grind-ed down?

Thanks again.

Yes a fresh utility knife blade will cut threw that plastic like a hot knife through butter.. No need to cut the steel or grind. Just remove that protruding plastic.. Tin snips will cut it like scissors..

I'm running a 35x12.5 r20 on a 2.5" lift and trimmed the bare minimum. No rub at all now..
