Never heard of them before now. Looks ok on google reviews, but you always get a bunch if idiots that know nothing about vehicles posting reviews online.

Hey if you need your timing done, PM me, the guy that did it for me knows his stuff and did it for $350 and changed my sparkplugs.

I was referred to marshals by 5 auto shops too.

Sounds good. I think mine is good for now. Try to do a lot of my own work. Good to know there are some good ford mechanics in Knox.

Hey, I want to put a chip in the truck after this. Should I put a shift kit or a chip on it?

Is your truck stock or modified? Honestly a chip will do wonders. I would look out for a used edge evo. Or you can buy a new one online. I got mine gryphon (same as edge) from power hungry performance in GA. I got great customer service from them. And it's close. The gryphon can have custom tunes written.

It's modified. I have 295-17 Nitto Terra's on it, it has dual flow exhaust, plus a 3" lift, and I want an aftermarket air intake on it, but I need to save,

Also shed an opinion here, I've wanted to sell this truck as it is a money pit. At this point I'm not going to get near what I've got into it. I was wondering what your opinion is on keeping it? I'm being told it "should" run another 150k miles no problem, the truck itself has 206k miles on it, plus a second engine was put in and now has a new chain plus only 86k miles on it. Granted sensors will start to go. The mechanic told me that the engine was VERY clean on the inside and has almost no grime build up when he did the chain.

Here's a list of repairs:
Timing chains, solenoids, and labor. (No phasers): $700
New Shocks and Struts: $700
New Outer Tie rods: $350
New Tires: $1200
New Pinion and bearing + Seals and everything in rear end: $700
Rebuilt Tranny: $1540 atm, but I can upgrade the shift kit for...?? (getting quote)

Depend on you, do you plan on keeping a truck, would you buy a new one? IMO I would keep it and just keep on driving it if you like the truck itself. I had an 05 STX regular can and the only thing I had go out besides normal wear and tear was the rear end at 180k miles. I replaced it with a reman'ed unit and traded it off a few month later. I lost money on that deal for sure. Biggest thing about that truck was it was a regular cab and I need more room to haul the wife and kids around. Other wise in some ways I wish I would have held onto it. It was paid off!

But with the new truck I just got into I plan on keeping for a long time. It's a lariat crew cab. It has 115k miles on it and I just got it and it cost less than half of what a new equivalent model would. I know it's different drive trains and trannys and etc on the new ones, but I would rather replace the tranny and engine both in this one rather than buy a new one. So it really comes down to you. I would say you could get many more miles out the one you have now with the stuff you've replaced.

Sensors normally go out with age rather than mileage from my experience. So I would take a 05 with 200k miles over a 95 with 100k miles just because age does catch up with electronics. If you think about it, a seņor normally doesn't have any moving parts, it's either an thermo couple or a resistor that can function for quite some time.

There is my long drawn out two cents haha

So I'll put it this way, KBB is right around 10k in excellent condition. This thing is perfect now. I've got new nittos and shocks/struts. Basically the list I just gave you. The carfax report said to go ahead and add $940.

Now I don't anything about sales, but would I have to ask right around 11k, or less because of the repairs, or can I sell it for a lot more because of the repairs?

You can look at it two ways, "this has had a lot of repairs, it's risky" or "this thing has been (restored) or repaired and Is practically brand new!"

Agreed. Depends on the buyer that would take it off your hands. Someone might buy it for that. You never know. Put it on craiglists and just drive it. Keep all your documents about repairs to support it. It would have to be private party. A dealer won't give you crap for it I'm sure.
