Default Faded Pickup Box Molding

The pickup box molding on my 2004 F150 is turning white. Does anyone know if Ford is selling a replacement part that won't fade, or of any aftermarket replacement?

Thanks

Go to your nearest parts store and get a bottle of Mothers Back to Black - apply it liberally, let it dry then buff it off. It may take 2 or 3 times but it will bring it back to life. The bottle will cost you just shy of $7.00.

Or Krylon Fusion paint for plastics. Use a cleaning prep (for plastics; can be bought in spray can form at any parts store), then a plastic "adhesion" primer. I did this on the bed rail tops last year, and they still are nice and black in the hot Texas sun.

Search this; it's been discussed before.

I agree with this method. Although it takes the longest and must be done carefully, it is not a temporary coverup. Replacement is the best method though... especially if some of that whiteness is wax buildup. All the back to black and other "shiners" in the world will not help that.

Personally on mine when I wash and wax her, I use turtle wax Ice on the handles, cowl, and bed trim.

I used to use the Turtle wax ICE on my trim also. But after extended use it started building up and leaving a white residue. Even after washing it. I switched to the Back to Black.

Hmm... Note to self. Thanks, I'll keep that in mind.

I just took my Putco handles off and my handles were pretty dull looking. I just put a third application of Mothers Back to Black on my handles today and they look great! Don't know how long it will last but im happy with the results.
