How can I tell what my truck left the factory with?

I tried google using the VIN and Fords Site but neither returned any information.

yes, worked fine for me, well my vin did not the one you attempted. However I tried the vin you posted and it failed.

Basics - I am looking for things like gearing, tow package, etc.

In front of the radiator there are 2 different finned coolers - I assume one is tranny and the other is oil but I am not sure.

Bought the truck from a Ford dealer but it was used and had 15K miles on it, they did not have the original widow sticker.

Is this something CarFax would tell me?

You could take the VIN to a Ford dealership. They can track what factory it came from what dealer it went to and what it was ordered with.
