Default Factory F150 Subwoofer

Who has one of these, are they any good?

Are all the 2008 Super Cab and Super Crew trucks wired for the subwoofer and will all the radios work with it.

My truck is a 2008 F150 FX2 Supercab, I looked under the rear seat and didn't see the connector.

I bought a wiring diagrams book on eBay for my truck and found the connector location in the book, and the pin-out of the connector.

There have been quite a few threads on this very same subject that last few days, and I think there was one that told exactly where the plug was (under the carpet where the rear seatbelt bolts down I think) and which radios will work for sure.

Try searching, and if you cant find it, I will try to look it up for ya.

Good luck.

Some of those who found that there truck was per-wired for the sub said the connector was hard to find. Some said it was under the seat (right side) and others said it was next the the center console. Here are some pictures that other's have posted. Good luck and I hope you find it

If you google "audiophile" (option name Ford assigned to the subwoofer), you will come across another Ford Forum that has about 6 pages of reader posts and responses on this (plus a whole lot more on the subject!). Also, check the "audio/radio" section of this site (go to FORUM JUMP). It has been discussed there as well. Search on the same topic there.

Here's a jumpstart to the link on this sites audio/radio forum:

The book covers both LT , FX4, FX2, and all F150s. I will scan in the pictures tonight and post them, I would think even if you were not going to use the factory sub you could use the connector for signal and turn on signal, and power too, if you were not going really big amp on an aftermarket.

A buddy has a 2004 FX4, have rode in his truck many times listening to the system and thinking it did have a pretty good thump for a factory system. I ask him today if his truck had the sub, he said he didn't think so. We went out and looked and yes he did, and didn't even know it, he just thought the black box under the seat was some support brace or something.

I gotta go out and find my connector, I looked on ebay and there are several of the factory subs on there from $99.00. Some were pulled from new truck when the owner was putting in a aftermarket system, some pulled from wrecked trucks.

Unfortunatly for me, the SXT standard cabs are not pre-wired, as there is no way to mount the factory sub woofer without a back seat! I can get the factory wiring (a nice kind person posted the part numbers from Ford) and install my own contraption, but I just cannot open the wallet to shell out the bucks for a good box and sub woofer speaker setup.

You are correct in that an aftermarket sub woofer can be wired into the factory harness. The pinouts are on another thread. If you can't find them, let me know. I wrote them down and can re-post the factory pinouts (their assignment).

The wiring book I have shows the pinout.

BTW I also have an 84 VW Westy, I think I have a bad valve right now it started smoking like crazy a couple of weeks ago, I haven't had time to get it looked at yet.

Would you mind sending me the listing for the wires in the factory wiring for the factory sub...Im assuming two have to be for the audio left audio right, then the amp on/off wire and ground and power. Can you send me which color is which...That would be a huge help!
