You wont get 17k+ for your truck.

I wouldn't say that. If he sold it privately he might. Similar trucks are selling for about that in my area.

Stock trucks in my area are going for 19k. And yes i realize you dont get what you payed for mods out of the sale but my truck will stand out over those stock trucks. As for the mudding i dont bog i just like slingin some mud every now and then in on dirt roads and stuff and usually just go to pull buddies with the crappy trucks out lol. Some other issues ive dealt with are a faulty fuel pump the first week i had my truck and a dead alternator the 2nd month i had it. I just want a lifted truck that sounds good, pulls good and hard with some *** and still gets pretty damn good mileage (heard stories of tuned, straight pipe, and intaked, 7.3's gettin 20+ on the highway, i get 15. I found this truck and it looks solid and they are accepting trades. If i could get the truck plus 2500 or so i would do it instantly, as i would be straight piping, lifting, ******* and tiring pretty soon after the purchase. I have my truck payed off so thats not an issue.http://jacksonville.craigslist.org/ctd/1566916423.html

Im also debating looking into the 6.0's but everybody trash talks em, why?

Unfortunately there's really no comparison. I had a Dodge 1-ton with the Cummins back in '98 and it kicked ***. Rock solid, great mileage, power, etc.

This last summer I thought I'd go diesel again and bought a new 2009 F250. It was a beautiful truck, but the engine was junk. As I drove back home up the mountains I couldn't believe how underpowered it was and I was averaging 11mpg according to the built-in comp. I drove it around Sunday to give it another chance while telling myself it would be better with break-in, but ultimately ended up dropping it back off at the dealer on Monday. I'm not sure if it's the powerstroke design, or all the new emissions, but I've never been less impressed by a diesel.

I'd like to see all these saying yes to say why. Most of us seem to think it isn't a good idea.

Yeah, it seems a little out of proportion for what I need. Haha I realized that if I'm gonna get my SVT Cobra when my insurance drops I better keep what I got and start saving for mods lol. I'm gonna lift this truck this summer and do 35" trail grapplers when ever somebody will buy my tires!

I my friend have been in your shoes i had an 02 f150 and i sold it and bought an 00 f350 7.3 a very nice truck 4" lift 35" tires but i didnt pull or haul anything and it cost me $60 to change the oil myself so i sold it and bought an 07 f150 and im glad i did if you get much cold weather the diesel just dosent run as good even if you plug the block heater in my advice to you would be dont rush into buying a bigger truck do the research it is very expensive to maintain a diesel are they bad ***? Yes but this change could be just an ego booster as it was for me but then again if you can afford it go for it but for me it just wasnt very cost effective

I have to agree with everyone it isn't really cost effective unless you tow/haul stuff atleast a few times a month. And maintance costs a ton!

As badass as they are, and I want a F250/F350 7.3 badly. It would just not be cost effective as I don't tow anything right now. Even though you can get some serious HP and TQ and gas mileage out of them with tuners and straight pipe and CAI and such. Plus the sound of a diesel is amazing!!

But if you can afford it, and that's what you want, go for it. But if you have a SVT Cobra waiting for mods, you surely won't have money to mod it after buying the diesel.

Yeah the SVT isint mine yet but I will be buying one in the next 3 or 4 years when my insurance rates go down. You guys are right and it was honestly a spur of the moment thing haha I was driving my truck today thinking I love my truck and have spent tons in mods, why would I sell it for a lot less and just start over with something I don't really need? So yeah I'm probably going to fix the phasers if I can get some more info on these Comp Cam phaser limiters I found for 200 bucks that according to a guy on ford-trucks eliminates the phaser tick.

Here's a pic of my old truck I recently sold. I miss it sometimes but I like my 04 F150 better. Easier to drive, same if not better gas mileage w/ gas being .50 cheaper, parts are a lot cheaper. I would like another powerstroke in the future though.
