Default F150 desert test...

Took my new-to-me 2004 FX4 for a trial run in soft sand. Nothing huge, just some soft tracks and smaller dunes. I was pleasantly surprised. The only problem was cresting dunes at at an angle - the long wheelbase gets stuck on the top of the dune, which didn't happen with my previous SUV.

So as long as you avoid sharp dune crests (or go over them head-on, which can be dangerous), soft sand is no problem.

Tires - I was running BF Goodrich T/A 315/70R17 fully inflated at 35psi. With reduced pressure performance would be even better but I didn't need to, she took everything in her stride.

Here's a video from in the cab:

Local kids proving their manhood I guess... they do a quick left and right swerve which gets the SUV up onto 2 wheels, they drive for miles like that. Hate to think what it does to tire sidewalls.

Haha, I love how they just drive by casually and nobody seems to think anything of it. How in the hell does that thing not flip on its side!

I am cracking up at these comments. OP posted a vid of him driving in the desert and everyone notices these "small" details like cars on two wheels and camels.

I did some searching on youtube and evidently this whole two wheel driving thing is pretty popular in Arab countries.

^Bahahaha, wtf?? A camel and a Jeep on 2 wheels... I've seen it all today LOL.

Nice camera setup by the way. I wish I had the knowledge to set something like that up. Great video too! I think going to the dunes is my favorite vacation time. And you live in Dubai? Wow
