hood vibration
I was just wondering if anyone else had the same "problem" that I was having. My hood vibrates, almost flutters, when I am driving on the highway and I meet a semi. It probable raises a quarter to maybe a half an inch at the windshield. I have an aftermarket billet grille and fiberglass ram air hood, but it did the same thing with the oem hood. It must be catching alot of air from somewhere (underneath, threw the grille, etc.) to raise the hood shocks that much. Do the shocks go bad, and lose their "stiffness"? The hood raises and stays up just fine. It is a little frightening to see the hood move that much, almost looks like it might flip up.

there is a TSB on this.
this is what it says
SERVICE PROCEDURE
1.Confirm that the hood is flush with the front fenders at each front corner. If the hood is under-flush adjust the hood stops to raise the hood flush with the tops of the front fenders.
2.Check the amount of drag at the rear hood to cowl seal with a piece of paper. Place a piece of paper between the seal and hood, close the hood and then slowly pull the paper out.
a.If there is sufficient drag, indicating good seal to hood contact, return the vehicle to the customer.
b.If there is little to no drag, obtain locally a piece of fuel hose 147 cm long & 11 mm diameter (58" long & 3/16" diameter). Lube the hose with a soap-based solution and install the hose inside the hood seal bulb.

I did the paper test and it seemed that there was a lot of resistence when I pulled the paper out. The hood is also lined up with the fenders, so I guess that I will just have to close my eyes when I meet a semi. haha
