F150 5.4L violent shake, knocks, sputters in gear
Was driving my 2006 F150 5.4L V8 4x4, 110,00kms on it. Pulled into a parking lot and the truck started to shudder, shake, and make a god awful knocking noise. It also started to sputter eventually like it was going to die. Idles fine once its been turned off and restarted, but as soon as it goes into gear the shuttering starts, and DOES NOT stop again once you shift it back into park; only when you kill the engine. I know cam phasers on the 5.4 are a very common issue. Just wondering if anyone else has had a cam phaser fail recently that could shed some light on this for me?
