Default F-150 more power than F-250

So I was just in a 05 F-250 with the 5.4 3v. Same motor as my 150. My truck seems to just accelerate twice as fast as the f-250. Now the 250 is a shop truck so it has a toolbox in the bed, lightbar and lights all round the truck and also it has no cam phasers or timing chain noise. It is a extended cab and has 113k miles. Why does mine seem to accelerate faster? Obviously it is a lighter truck but could that make a noticible difference? It's the same gear ratio but the 250 is limited slip and mine is open diff. Just wondering why the 250 Doesn't have the punch on acceleration. Both trucks are stock. Same wheels tires etc

Power to weight ratio between the two is greater on the f150. Plus one is a heavier 3/4 ton the other light duty 1/2 ton.

Good question. I have a 07 F150 2wd with the 3.55 LS and a 07 Expedtion 4x4 with the 3.73 and the Expedition feels so much quicker off the line. My f150 has true dual exhaust and a Gryphon tuner.

Did they use the 3v in super duty trucks? I'm pretty sure the E350 vans all used the 2v 5.4 and figured the same for the bigger trucks as no one ever talks about those having the cam phaser issues.

My guess is weight. That F-250 is much more in weight then the F-150, so the 5.4 is going to be quicker feeling in the F-150.

It is a 5.4 3v in the 250. It is true that the 250 is bigger and heavier but I didn't think that it makes much difference. The owner of the 250 even says that's the 150 is quicker. For instance when you punch the 150 it goes where as the 250 kind of lags.

Plugged cats? Old plugs? Bad fuel? Plugged air filter? Old oil? Transmission wear? The list could go on and on forever. Fact is no two trucks are alike once they have been owned for a while. Each person treats them differently. The next 150 may not be better than the 250 or the other way around the next 250 might be better than the 150. Its just a game of numbers and chance.

I agree those things could make a difference but the truck was bought at 60k and has been maintained very well. It is a shop and plow truck for a small lot but has been maintained very well. I'm thinking it's just because the 250 has a lot more weight.

Could be geared differently too.
