F-150 Cranks but doesn't start
I have a 2006 5.4 F-150 that had been riding rough for a few months and finally died on me while coming to a stop and then trying to accelerate. I have removed the fuel filter and verified the filter is clear and also verified that the fuel pump is pumping fuel to the engine when key is turned to on position . I checked for spark by removing plug and grounding to the body and spark was indeed present. I have also removed the Fuel module mounted above the spare tire and their are no holes or cracks on it. We have checked all of our fuses and they all seem to be okay...Does any one have any experience with this?

check the wires on the frame on the left side. If you look under the drivers door at the frame there should be a plastic cover held on by two push pins, pull it down
And check the wires going into the plug for any corrosion. Mud and water/salt builds up in there and corrodes the wires causing a no start.

I just had the same issue yesterday, would crank but not fire, brought it to my mechanic since we got a bunch of snow and I didn't want to deal with it. He called me today and said he replaced the fuel pump control module (above the spare tire), all said and done the bill will be $280 for the fix, not terrible considering its up and running in less than 24 hours

Mine was running horrible and bad mileage. Black smoke from exhaust. It was the fuel pressure sensor under the hood: http://www.partsgeek.com/gbproducts/...FYIlgQodwckBgg

Could it still be the fuel module under spare even though it looked good. I know most of them including mine are obvious but don't know the sure fire test to prove it . I would still clean the above mentioned parts too though

This was 5 months ago... check the fuel pump driver module under the spare tire.

$280? Ouch that's a $60 part that takes 15 minutes to change! Yikes!

Agree with Stephen... That's $220 labor for half hour max work... But like you said all you had to deal with is the bill..
