Extended Warranty Question
I have a 05 Supercrew 4x4 Lariat with the special edition loud ticking 5.4. It doesn't tick/knock until it's warm, so after reading all the posts, I'm guessing it has cam phaser issues.
The sound only comes from the passenger side. So I'm about to do battle probably with the dealership and warranty company. Has anybody had any experience with extended warranty companies NOT covering the cam phaser repair? Will it be a B*tch to get them to replace the driver's side even though it is not making any noise?
Any suggestions when dealing with service techs? I really don't like dealers, almost as bad as the proctologist.

I have had the same problem for 30,000 miles. Unless you bought your f150 with the "Factory Certified Truck" stamp you are done. I have been to several dealers with a price quote of $2500.00 or more. If you are not a ford certified "preowned truck" then cross your fingers and save 3000.00 for an engine swap at 100,000. I still love my 04 Lariot f150 more than anything!
