Default Exhaust questions

I bought a set of high flow cats off my buddy yesterday and need some help. I've been told I need to run an x-pipe to equalize out the power of the two halves of the motor to gain horse power off the high flows. Is it true if you run high flows with straight pipes and no mufflers you loose power? Need help before I spend the money to have these put on!

I have true duals with an X pipe. Seems about the same with one as it does without one performance wise, however with the X the tone is much deeper.

Do you have a video of the exhaust any where I'd love to hear how the x pipe sounds.

The tone is so deep that it doesn't pick up well on a video. I would recommend an X they aren't that expensive and it sounds great

Well the way it looks it's gonna be cheaper to have my whole exhaust reran than just installing high flows I've got quotes from 125 all the way to 200. I can have the whole true dual system ran with no mufflers and new 3.5" tips for 250 (at least that's what it was 3 years ago). Really thinking of doing the true duals again with an x pipe and 5" tips with a slight dump at a 45 degree angle or Denali tips ran at 90s with a slight dump. I want something that's gonna be loud but not unbearable loud and still sound good.
