I want to get rid of my stock muffler and tailpipe and I found a flowmaster delta 44 but the inlet and outlet are 3 inches and the stock size is 2.5 inches. So I was wondering if I could cut my stock muffler off and buy the flowmaster, clamps, and maybe an adapter from 2.5 to 3 inches if that's necessary. I was going to also have a turn down tip and dump it right before the rear axel. Any input is appreciated.

You could do that. I would suggest removing the exhaust instead of cutting it. And get a muffler with the correct Inlet size
