Yes, I know I have done the GOTTS mod. I was just curious if having a intake mod installed, would change whether removing the exhaust/increasing to 3" would have any effect.

No. It will not have any positive effect.

First off, I am not even sure what it is you are saying here.

Second, there is no code for "back pressure" issues.

Third, removal of the muffler will not trip any codes. The computer will have no idea what happens after the last O2 sensor right after the cats.

Finally, lets clear this up. Back pressure is a non existent issue and an old wives tale. 4 stroke engines do not require any type of back pressure to operate correctly. Only 2 stroke engines are effected by back pressure.

Hack away my friend. I am in the non muffler group and prefer that sound. I replace my muffler with a piece of pipe and reattached the stock tailpipe. However I dont' like to spend money on things that dont actually make my truck better.

My truck has no cats and no downstream O2 sensors. It runs great but the check engine light stays on because of the missing sensors. Dual exhaust under bumper.
